How many years has Big Iron been held?

Big Iron began in 1980 in Casselton, ND. The 2009 show will be the 29th.

The show is large—how do I get around?

Yes, it is large. Big Iron events and exhibits cover more than 200 acres of ground. Free shuttle service throughout the grounds will be provided.
No outside golf carts are allowed on the grounds. No exceptions.

Are golf carts allowed?

No outside golf carts are allowed on the grounds. Free shuttle service throughout the grounds will be provided. Handicap accessible scooters are permissible.

What’s available for farm safety education?

Several sessions will address farm safety issues.

Will there be a tractor pull this year?

No

Will I be able to see working equipment at the show?

You can see all types of equipment in the field demonstration area just south of the Red River Valley Speedway. Transportation to the demonstration area is provided.

Are Big Iron exhibits and events handicap accessible?

The majority of the exhibits are on pavement for wheelchair access.

Since it began, Big Iron has evolved from a farm equipment show to a three-day celebration of rural living, including —agribusiness, innovation and technology, and health. You will be able to learn more about or participate in:

Who manages Big Iron?

Big Iron is planned by a volunteer committee of individuals involved in various aspects of agribusiness. It is managed by Bryan Schulz and Event Coordinator, Chaun Merkens.

More than 70,000 attendees come from across the U.S. and from several other countries to see demonstrations, visit 800+ exhibitors, connect with their peers and attend training sessions.
